C&A 1960
C&A are a family owned and operated business which started in 1960 as an industrial recycler of precious metals. As kids in the sixties, Randy and Smith Walter spent their school holidays helping their father Walter, a metallurgist, in the family business – helping to melt silver and incinerate film in their premises in Notting Hill.
Since 1980
By the eighties, and after venturing out on their own, both sons had joined the business in a full-time capacity, Randy having completed a degree in Business Management and Smith gaining qualifications and hands on experience in computers, electronics, plastics and pumps. As the business became more viable, they invested in technology – always striving to enhance processes and improve their efficiency.
